Johnny Gaddaar

Johnny Gaddaar

Johnny Gaddaar Movie review

Remember the theme music of 70s flicks like AMIR GARIB, FAKIRA and TRAIN amongst
the more popular YAADON KI BARAAT, KAALICHARAN and of course JOHNNY
MERA NAAM, which is considered no less than a cult classic today? When
you hear similar music in the opening credit title rolls of JOHNNY
GADDAAR, you know that director's Sriram has his mind (and most
importantly his heart) in the right place.

He does pay homage to the 'masala' flicks from the 70s but in the style of 21st century. Ab yeh hua naa ek unique combination!

So while Raghavan openly flouts his love for Amitabh
Bachchan-Navin Nischol starrer PARWANA, he also makes a subtle
reference to Al Pacino's SCARFACE. On the other hand what takes the
cake is his keen study of films made by Guy Ritchie, Quentin Tarantino
and Alfred Hitchcock amongst other greats.

Jab We Met

Jab We Met Movie Review

There may have been varied box office response to Fida, 36 China Town and Chup Chup Ke (each of them starring Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor) but what cannot be

denied is the fact that music by Anu Malik (Fida) and Himesh Reshammiya (36 China Town and Chup Chup Ke) became quite popular.

Now as the duo comes together once again in Jab We Met, one looks forward to yet another young soundtrack in the offering. A reasonable expectation since the composer at the

helm is Pritam, Irshad Kamil is the lyricist whereas Imtiaz Ali, the man behind Socha Na Tha holds the baton as a director.

"Mika can assure himself of yet another hit track. The moment 'Mauja Hi Mauja' begins, you know that an instant chartbuster is right up there for the team of Jab We Met.

Dhoom 2

Dhoom 2 Review

Dhoom 2 Very rarely do you come across Hindi films that marry form and content so beautifully. DHOOM 2 is cool, but beneath the sheen there's substance too.

Mounted on an extravagant scale, the film is a visual delight. The film travels from one breath-taking locale to another in those 16 reels, often making your jaw drop to your knees thanks to the sweeping impact it makes.

Any sequel to score high marks, it ought to be embellished with pulse-pounding moments. DHOOM 2 is a hi-octane thriller and the thrills, stunts and pace -- vital for any thriller to strike a chord -- are sure to keep you on the edge from Scene A to Z.

Most importantly, DHOOM 2 delivers what it promises: Escapist cinema at its best!

In terms of business, DHOOM 2 is bound to create dhoom at the ticket window. It's a box-office triumph all the way. Time for Yash Raj to pop champagne yet again!

Ali's [Uday Chopra] dream of becoming a police officer has come true. He is now ACP Jai Dixit's [Abhishek Bachchan] right hand man. Together, they are trying to keep a tight leash on the crime in India. Little do they know what they are going to be up against.
